Day Three and Something Useful

Now at last on day three some really valuable help.

Its something I try to do but continually forget.

We all set out with a strategy when learning a language but all too often we keep that as a mental note rather than writing down a strategy.

I'm not sure you can really learn a language fast unless you commit to drilling in vocabulary and conjugated forms of verbs at regular intervals during the day and as the  Erbinghaus Forgetting Curve shows, it has to be repeated regularly.

This again is common sense but so far has revealed nothing about speeding up the learning process.

I really can't believe that there isn't one little excercise to convince me that it is worth spending the twenty quid on it

The First Days Lesson

Nothing really exciting in the first instalment of the free 7 day trial lessons, but here it is anyway.

Basically a motivational piece that we all know but never act on.

Learn Italian

This is a decent free course in Italian by the US education dept.

Its in PDF file and can be printed off.

The beauty I find with this course is the way it expands, from the simple phrase to more complex sentences, without paying any attention to grammar, well not as far as I have read through it.

Having got a little bit into Italian and wanting to progress further I will be gving this a lot of time over the next month.

Finding the Course for You

Starting to learn a new language is both exciting and intimidating .

Finding a course that suits yourself and your pocket can be exhausting in itself, before getting onto the actual learning and practice.

I am tired of being told that the only way to learn a language is this way, or that way and it seems everyone is an expert on how you should learn, without taking into account that we are not all the same .

Some like to learn phrases and have that ability to repeat parrot fashion a set phrase at the flick of a mental switch. Others like to be able to construct sentences, grammatically perfect, while others dive head first into utterances and see what develops by trial and error to make themselves understood.
